Assam Cabinet Orders Case Against Congress Leaders Over Alleged Indecent Gestures

The Assam Cabinet has directed the police to register a criminal case against senior Congress leaders Debabrata Saikia, Bhupen Kumar Borah, and Mira Borthakur for allegedly making indecent gestures towards women during a recent rally.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the cabinet asked the DGP to act under appropriate legal provisions, calling the incident an insult to women of Assam. He also said the video clip of the alleged gesture would be sent to the women’s commission for action.
Debabrata Saikia denied the allegation, dismissing it as baseless and said the Chief Minister should focus on the state’s pressing issues.
