Congress Slams BJP Over Deleted Video, Seeks Judicial Action

The Congress has strongly criticised the BJP over a now-deleted video posted by the Assam BJP’s official handle, alleging it promoted hate and violence against minorities. Senior Congress leaders, including K C Venugopal, accused the ruling party of issuing a “call to genocide” and demanded strict judicial action with no leniency.

Congress spokespersons said deleting the video was insufficient and questioned the silence of constitutional bodies. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also condemned the post, calling it hate-driven and accusing institutions of inaction. The video reportedly showed Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma aiming a rifle, with the caption “point-blank shot.”
