NGTA Gives Seven-Day Ultimatum Over Salary Budget Inclusion

The Nagaland Government Teachers’ Association (NGTA) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the School Education Department, demanding inclusion of their salaries in the state non-plan budget.

The association said that despite being mainstreamed into the state education cadre in April 2022, salaries of 2,293 teachers are still paid under Centrally Sponsored Schemes. NGTA warned that if the issue is not resolved within the deadline, it may resort to democratic collective action.
