Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to Finalise Congress Candidates for Assam Polls

The Congress has assigned senior leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra the task of preparing the party’s candidate list for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting in New Delhi attended by party president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior Assam leaders.

The meeting also reviewed alliance and seat-sharing strategies with opposition partners. APCC president Gaurav Gogoi stressed flexibility and “adjustment and sacrifice” to ensure BJP’s defeat. Party leaders said candidate selection will focus on winnability and local support, while alliance talks with regional parties will continue in the coming weeks.
