Himanta Biswa Sarma Assures Thorough Probe into Dancer Himashree Boro’s Death

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday met the bereaved family of dancer Himashree Boro in Chapaidong and assured them that the state government would pursue a thorough investigation into her death in Andhra Pradesh. He said an Assam Police Inspector General had been sent to investigate the incident amid concerns raised by the family and the public.

Sarma said he had written to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, seeking a proper inquiry. He added that the Assam government was coordinating with the Andhra Pradesh government and the Union Railway Ministry to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
