Assam Police Seize Yaba Tablets, Cough Syrup and Illegal Liquor; Seven Arrested

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Hailakandi Police conducted two successful anti-drug operations on consecutive nights, seizing 1.21 lakh Yaba tablets worth about Rs 5 crore and 3,500 bottles of cough syrup, with four arrests made.

In a separate operation in Silchar, police intercepted a truck carrying 2,025 litres of illegal IMFL and arrested three people. The Chief Minister praised Assam Police for intensifying the crackdown under the #AssamAgainstDrugs campaign, reaffirming the government’s push against drug and illicit liquor trade.
