Tiger Carcass Found in Kaziranga’s 6th Addition Area

The carcass of an adult male Royal Bengal tiger was found during patrol by forest staff in the 6th Addition (Monabari Soil) area of Kaziranga National Park under the Biswanath Wildlife Division. Preliminary examination showed the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, with bones, skin, nails and teeth intact.
A post-mortem conducted as per NTCA guidelines suggested the tiger likely died of natural causes, possibly due to old age. Samples have been preserved for forensic analysis. The 6th Addition area currently has a tiger population of 27, according to the latest census.
