Gaurav Gogoi Targets BJP Over Culture, Welfare at Congress Yatra in Upper Assam

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Saturday accused the Assam BJP government of neglecting Assamese culture while addressing the Samay Paribartan Yatra in Demow. He said the Congress campaign focuses on protecting Assam’s cultural identity and promised justice in the Zubeen Garg case if the party comes to power. Gogoi also criticised the government over women-centric schemes, rising prices, alleged underreporting of crimes and neglect of cultural and health infrastructure. Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia echoed concerns over reduced health spending. The yatra, launched from Titabor, aims to strengthen grassroots connect ahead of the Assembly elections.
