Assam Police Foil Major Drug Trafficking Attempt in Sribhumi

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the state police seized 30,000 Yaba tablets in Sribhumi district and arrested two alleged drug couriers. He said the swift operation blocked a trafficking route and disrupted the supply chain.

The seizure is part of Assam’s intensified anti-narcotics drive. In recent days, police have carried out multiple operations across the state, recovering large quantities of drugs and arresting several accused. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government will continue its strict crackdown on drug trafficking.
