AGP Finance Secretary Jayanta Khaund Resigns Ahead of Assam Polls

Jayanta Khaund resigned from the Asom Gana Parishad on Friday, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam.

Khaund said he had informed the party leadership about his decision, stating that continuing in the AGP was no longer beneficial. Sources indicate he is in talks with leaders of the Indian National Congress and may join the party soon.

He added that his next political step will be taken after consulting the public, signaling his intention to remain active in state politics.
