Assam Govt Releases Second Instalment Under CMAAA to 12,900 Young Entrepreneurs

The Assam government on Wednesday distributed the second instalment of financial assistance under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 1.0 to around 12,900 young entrepreneurs. Beneficiaries received support ranging from ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh to help expand their businesses.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the assistance was given to those who effectively used the initial ₹1 lakh grant provided when the scheme was launched in September 2023. Out of the 25,000 youths who received the first instalment, nearly 13,000 have qualified for the second phase after successfully establishing viable businesses.
The remaining 12,000 beneficiaries have been given an additional 90 days to utilise their first instalment and show progress before becoming eligible for the next tranche.
The state government will also connect beneficiaries with banks for easier access to loans and will bear part of the interest to reduce financial burden. Additionally, the programme has been expanded this year to include 75,000 more youths, with the long-term goal of supporting nearly 10 lakh people and encouraging job creation through entrepreneurship.
