SAKP Demands Timely Implementation of 8th Pay Commission in Assam

The Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad held an extended executive meeting in Guwahati on Wednesday with over 300 representatives from more than 50 districts and several employee and teachers’ associations.

The meeting demanded that the 8th Pay Commission be implemented in Assam from January 1, 2026, in parity with the Government of India.

Participants also urged the state government to resolve anomalies from the 7th Pay Commission before implementing the new pay structure to ensure state employees are not disadvantaged.
