Tea Garden Worker Celebrated After Receiving Land Deed from PM Modi

Joyful celebrations took place at Dinjoy Tea Estate after worker Kutharti Bhumij returned home with a digital land deed he received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a programme in Guwahati.

Family members and fellow workers welcomed him warmly, with many performing traditional Jhumur dance despite the rain.

Bhumij was among several tea garden workers granted land rights under a new initiative by the Assam government. For many plantation workers, the move is historic as generations had lived on the land without legal ownership.

Bhumij said receiving the land deed from the Prime Minister was an unforgettable moment in his life.
