Debabrata Saikia Urges Citizens’ Panel to Monitor Zubeen Garg Case

Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia has called for a citizens’ justice monitoring committee to ensure transparency in the case of singer Zubeen Garg’s mysterious death. He proposed including retired judges, lawyers, academics, and civil society members.

Saikia raised concerns over delays, alleged loopholes in the SIT chargesheet, and possible political influence. The committee would track court proceedings, analyse legal developments, assist the family, and keep the public informed without interfering in the trial.
