BJP Leader Jayanta Das Resigns After Ticket Denial from Dispur

Senior BJP leader Jayanta Kumar Das has resigned from the party after being denied a ticket from the Dispur constituency, citing “personal inconveniences.”

Das expressed disappointment over the party overlooking his 35 years of service, stating that loyalty and sacrifice were ignored. He, however, affirmed his commitment to continue serving the people of Dispur.

The BJP had instead fielded Pradyut Bordoloi, a recent entrant from Congress. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reacted by saying he believes Das may reconsider and stressed party unity.
