CM Visits Silchar to Boost BJP Unity Ahead of Nominations

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Silchar to strengthen party unity and campaign momentum in Barak Valley amid ticket-related dissent.

He held meetings with party leaders and downplayed unrest, expressing confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will win most seats in the region.

Sarma defended candidate Rajdeep Roy and highlighted strong prospects in key constituencies, framing the election as a contest of victory margins rather than survival.

Meanwhile, former MLA Nihar Ranjan Das, who resigned after being denied a ticket, announced he will not contest independently and will support the BJP.
