Over 800 Candidates File Nominations for Assam Polls

A total of 818 candidates have filed 1,391 nominations for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections across all 126 constituencies, with figures likely to be updated.

Scrutiny will be held on March 24, while March 26 is the last date for withdrawal.

Meanwhile, retired IAS officer Manjeet Singh has been appointed as Special Observer and will hear public grievances daily in Dispur.
