CM Sarma Hails UNESCO Tag for Charaideo Moidams as Global Recognition

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed the inclusion of Charaideo Moidams as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, calling it global recognition of the Ahom kingdom’s 600-year legacy.

Located in Charaideo, the burial mounds of Ahom royalty are known as the “Pyramids of Assam.”

The status is expected to boost tourism, preservation, and global research interest, marking a major milestone for Assam’s cultural heritage.
