No lockdown proposal under consideration, says Hardeep Singh Puri

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday dismissed rumours of a nationwide lockdown, calling them “completely false” and clarifying that no such proposal is under consideration by the Government of India.

He said the government is closely monitoring global developments related to energy, supply chains, and essential commodities, while ensuring uninterrupted availability of fuel and critical resources under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

Emphasising preparedness, Puri stated that India is equipped to handle emerging challenges despite global uncertainties. He also urged citizens to remain calm and avoid spreading misinformation that could create unnecessary panic.
