NFR Cuts Travel Time Across 35 Trains, Saves 675 Minutes

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has reduced travel time for 35 trains across its network in 2025–26, saving a total of 675 minutes through operational improvements.

Officials said the average time saving stands at about 19 minutes per train, covering daily and periodic services on key routes. Among major trains, the Saraighat Express saved up to 30 minutes, the New Jalpaiguri–Bongaigaon Express cut 60 minutes, and the Dibrugarh–Deoghar Express recorded the highest reduction of up to 90 minutes.

The improvements were achieved through higher speeds on select sections, better scheduling, and infrastructure upgrades, especially on congested routes.

NFR stated that the initiative will enhance punctuality, improve passenger convenience, and optimise resource utilisation across its network.
