Motorcycle Catches Fire in Guwahati’s Patharquarry, Rider Safe

A motorcycle caught fire on a busy road in Guwahati’s Patharquarry area on Friday, causing panic before locals and traffic police brought the blaze under control.

The rider, an Army jawan from the Narengi camp, escaped unharmed. The incident occurred shortly after he refuelled at a nearby petrol pump and was heading back when the bike caught fire near Patharquarry Tiniali.

He quickly abandoned the vehicle to seek help, but moments later, the fuel tank exploded, intensifying the fire and spreading flames to nearby vegetation.

Residents, along with Satgaon Traffic Police, acted swiftly to control the situation. Police suspect the fire was triggered by a spark during ignition, and an investigation is underway.
