Kharge Attacks BJP Over Infiltration, Delimitation and Governance in Assam

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday criticised the BJP, accusing it of politicising the infiltration issue without taking real action.
Addressing a rally in Cachar, Kharge targeted Amit Shah and Narendra Modi, alleging that despite over a decade in power, the BJP has failed to deport illegal migrants in significant numbers.
He also accused the party of misusing the 2023 delimitation exercise to influence electoral outcomes and alleged that land and resources in Assam were being handed over to corporate interests.
Kharge further claimed that Barak Valley has been neglected, with recurring floods, poor infrastructure, and unresolved public issues. He criticised the BJP for failing to fulfil promises and questioned its commitment to women’s reservation.
Taking aim at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Kharge alleged corruption and raised questions about alleged foreign assets linked to his family.
He concluded by asserting that the BJP government would soon be voted out, calling it a fight to protect Assam’s resources and people.
