Punjab Moves HC to Keep Amritpal Singh in Dibrugarh Jail

The Punjab government approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking to keep MP Amritpal Singh lodged in Dibrugarh jail, Assam, even after his NSA detention ends on April 22. The state cited security concerns and plans to re-arrest him.

The court also dismissed Amritpal’s plea challenging his detention under the National Security Act. A hearing on the state’s fresh plea is scheduled next.
