Journalist Ratul Bora Killed in NH-37 Truck Accident in Golaghat

Senior journalist and educationist Ratul Bora (56) died on the spot after a truck allegedly ran over his motorcycle on NH-37 at Dergaon in Assam’s Golaghat district on Monday morning.

Bora, a correspondent of Dainik Asom and headmaster of Lakheraj Janajati High School, was travelling to work when the accident occurred around 8:30 am. CCTV footage captured the incident, showing him riding alongside the truck moments before the crash.

The truck, reportedly heading towards Jorhat, was later intercepted by traffic police. Authorities have launched an investigation, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.

The incident highlights ongoing safety concerns on NH-37, where similar fatal accidents have been reported earlier this year.
