Four-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Killed by Mother in Demow Tea Estate

A four-year-old girl, Rushita Kalindi, was allegedly killed by her mother at Banglaguri Line of Kharahat Tea Estate in Demow on Sunday.

According to local sources, the mother, Kalpana Kalindi, allegedly attacked the child with a sharp weapon while the father was away at work. She later reportedly attempted suicide and is now in critical condition at Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh.

Residents suspect financial stress and family disputes may have led to the incident. Members of Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association have demanded a fair and thorough investigation.
