Assam HS Exams to Be Held Twice a Year from 2027

Assam State School Education Board has announced that Higher Secondary final examinations in Assam will be conducted twice a year from 2027.
ASSEB Chairman R.C. Jain said the first exam will be held in February-March, followed by a special examination after the results for failed students and those seeking score improvement.
The Board will also increase the passing mark from 30% to 33%, remove the IP and NIP student categories, and make seven subjects compulsory. The vocational stream will be discontinued from 2027.
Jain further stated that affiliation of 49 private schools may be cancelled due to consistently poor HSLC results, while action has been recommended against nine government schools.
