ABPP Backs Eviction Drive Demand in BTC Reserve Forest Areas

Adivasi Bhumiputra People’s Party has supported the demand raised by the Bodoland Janojati Surekha Manch for eviction drives against alleged illegal encroachers in reserve forest areas of the Bodoland Territorial Council.

ABPP president Phukan Chandra Boro said eviction was necessary to protect forests, biodiversity and tribal lands. He also urged the Assam government to take action against alleged encroachment in tribal belts and blocks across the state.

The party warned of democratic mass movements if eviction drives are not initiated within May. ABPP also opposed alleged anti-tribal land policies and demanded land pattas for indigenous tribal communities.
