ED Raids IPL Betting Racket in Assam, Seizes Cash and Luxury Vehicles

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids in Guwahati, Tinsukia and New Delhi in connection with an illegal IPL cricket betting and money laundering case. The investigation is based on FIRs filed by Assam Police against several accused linked to an organised betting syndicate.

According to ED, the racket used mobile phones, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram and offshore betting platforms to run illegal IPL betting operations. During the searches, officials seized Rs 13 lakh in unaccounted cash and three luxury vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz, MG Hector and Toyota Fortuner, suspected to be bought using proceeds from the crime.
