Two Teenagers Drown While Retrieving Football from Canal in Assam’s Hailakandi

A football game ended in tragedy in Assam’s Hailakandi district when two teenagers drowned while trying to retrieve a ball from a canal at Chiporsangan Village Part-I on Thursday evening.

The victims, identified as Abhinav Sinha (13) and Arupam Sinha (15), reportedly entered the canal after their football fell into the water but ventured into a deeper section and drowned.

Locals and family members rushed to rescue the boys, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Police later recovered the bodies and sent them to SK Roy Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. The incident has left the village in deep shock and mourning.
