Moran Residents Protest Alleged Illegal Felling of Decades-Old Trees, Demand Action

Residents of Tiloinagar in Moran have launched a protest demanding action against the alleged illegal felling of six decades-old trees near Swami Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya. The trees, estimated to be around 70 years old, were reportedly cut down on May 26 without permission from the Forest Department or local authorities.
Although forest officials and police seized the tree stumps and related timber, locals claim no action has been taken against those responsible despite a formal complaint being filed. Protesters have placed banners and posters on the tree stumps, accusing authorities of inaction and calling for accountability.
Residents said the protest will continue until concrete steps are taken, stressing the need to protect the environment and enforce laws against illegal tree cutting.
