Assam Reviews NEET-UG Re-Exam Preparations Ahead of June 21 Test

The Assam government on Saturday reviewed preparations for the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21 across the state. The meeting, chaired by senior officials and the Assam DGP via video conference, assessed readiness in all districts.
More than 43,000 candidates are expected to appear at 88 examination centres across 17 districts. Authorities reviewed security arrangements, CCTV surveillance, biometric verification, power backup, and candidate facilities.
Officials have directed strict security measures, including dual-layer frisking and secure handling of question papers. District administrations have also been asked to ensure drinking water, seating, clean washrooms, and other essential amenities for candidates.
The re-examination follows the nationwide NEET-UG paper leak controversy, which is currently under investigation by the CBI. The Centre is also considering using Indian Air Force aircraft for secure transportation of question papers.
