Government Raises Onion Procurement Price by 13% to Support Farmers

New Delhi: The Central Government has increased the onion procurement price by 13% from ₹1,875 to ₹2,125 per quintal, effective immediately, to ensure better returns for farmers and strengthen the Price Stabilisation Buffer. Procurement through National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India and National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India is underway, while the government said onion production and stock levels remain adequate despite minor monsoon-related sowing delays in some regions.
