Allegations of Corruption Surface in Anganwadi Repair Works Under Pakhimoria ICDS Project

Nagaon: Allegations of large-scale corruption and substandard repair work have emerged in 46 Anganwadi centres under the Pakhimoria ICDS Project in Assam’s Raha constituency. Each centre received Rs 3 lakh for repairs in 2026, but locals claim contractors carried out poor-quality work while misusing government funds.
Residents alleged that incomplete and low-grade repairs were falsely shown as completed, with full payments released to contractors. They have demanded a high-level inquiry by the Nagaon district administration and strict action against those responsible, raising concerns over the monitoring and implementation of child welfare schemes.
