Assam Records 62% Cancer Survival Rate, Surpasses National Average

Guwahati: Assam has achieved a 62% cancer survival rate, higher than the national average, through its three-tier cancer care programme focused on early detection and timely treatment.
The state has 12 operational cancer care centres and aims to screen 1.24 crore people, with around 47 lakh already screened. The programme has also conducted over one lakh CT scans, administered more than 1.56 lakh chemotherapy sessions, and provided treatment to thousands of cancer patients across the state.
