IMD Rules Out Cloudburst, Experts Blame Infrastructure for Assam Floods

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has clarified that no cloudburst occurred in Assam or Nagaland, saying recent rainfall alone does not explain the devastating floods in Upper Assam. Experts have instead pointed to weak embankments, unscientific road construction, and the loss of wetlands as major factors that worsened flooding in the region.
