AASU Seeks Special Economic Package for Flood-Hit Districts

Guwahati, July 28: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has urged the Assam Government to announce a special economic package for the flood-ravaged districts of Sivasagar, Charaideo and Jorhat, saying routine relief measures will not be enough for recovery.

In a memorandum to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, AASU sought comprehensive rehabilitation, including financial aid, educational support, tax and loan relief, free reissuance of lost documents, and a scientific study to identify the causes of the devastating floods and recommend long-term solutions.
