Assam Marks International Tiger Day, CM Highlights Conservation Success

Guwahati: On the occasion of International Tiger Day, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam has emerged as a model for tiger conservation, attributing the rise in the state’s tiger population to strong anti-poaching measures, habitat protection and technology-driven monitoring.

The Chief Minister highlighted the success of Nameri Tiger Reserve, where the tiger population has increased from three to 12, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting tiger reserves, including Kaziranga, Manas, Orang and Nameri, to preserve the state’s biodiversity.
