BTC Advances School Hours Amid Rising Heat

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has revised school timings across Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur and Udalguri districts from August 17 as hot weather conditions continue in the region. The order applies to government, provincialised and private schools and will remain in force until further notice.

Under the revised schedule, LP schools will operate from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, ME schools until noon, and Higher Secondary and Senior Higher Secondary classes until 12:30 pm. The Education Department said the move is intended to limit students’ exposure to intense daytime heat and safeguard their health.
