Congress Expels Four Leaders in Assam

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has expelled four leaders from the party’s primary membership with immediate effect following a directive from APCC president and Lok Sabha Deputy Leader of Opposition Gaurav Gogoi. Those expelled include former Dhubri MLA Rasul Hoque (Bahadur), former ZPC member and Dhubri Assembly ticket aspirant Rezaul Islam (Rinku), Dhubri DCC general secretary Mohir Uddin Mondal and Matchichar Gram Panchayat AP member Afzal Hussain.
In a separate organisational decision, the APCC appointed Dr Jadunath Buragohain as chairman of the party’s Medical Cell with immediate effect. The decisions were announced through an official order issued on Sunday.
