NFR Completes Shift to Modern LHB Coaches for Long-Distance Trains

GUWAHATI: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has completed the conversion of all long-distance passenger trains on its network from conventional ICF coaches to modern LHB coaches, with 103 train services now operating with the upgraded coaches.

NFR said the new coaches feature advanced safety systems, including fire and smoke detection and suppression mechanisms. The railway also continues to conduct regular safety audits and inspections to strengthen passenger safety and improve operational efficiency across its network.
