Himanta Seeks Urgent Restoration of Flood-Damaged Highways

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi to seek urgent restoration of flood-damaged National Highways and stronger, flood-resilient road infrastructure across the state.

The discussion also covered recurring flash floods at Jorabat and the need to accelerate key projects, including the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor and Guwahati Ring Road. Gadkari assured the Centre’s continued support for strengthening Assam’s road connectivity.
