Heavy Rain Causes Severe Waterlogging Across Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Heavy rainfall on Friday morning caused widespread waterlogging across several parts of the city, affecting areas including Beltola, Rukminigaon, Hatigaon, Downtown, Wireless, Jorabat and Panjabari.

The situation was particularly severe along the Guwahati-Jorabat route, where stretches of NH-27 and NH-6 were submerged, disrupting traffic and leaving vehicles stranded. A school bus and a goods-laden truck were reportedly among the vehicles affected, while long traffic queues formed on the key route towards Shillong and Upper Assam.
