NFR Solar Capacity Reaches 42.1 MWp

GUWAHATI: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has expanded its solar power infrastructure, commissioning 23.7 MWp of capacity between January and July 2026, taking its total installed solar capacity to 42.1 MWp.

NFR said the initiative generated around 114 lakh units of solar power during 2025–26, resulting in savings of approximately Rs 8.6 crore. A further 9 MWp of solar capacity is under implementation across Lumding, Rangiya, Katihar and Alipurduar divisions.
