Two Suspected Vehicle Thieves Killed in Police Encounter

Sonapur: Two suspected vehicle thieves, identified as Saidul Alam Laskar and Babul Singh, were killed in an alleged police encounter at Markadola under Sonapur Police Station. The incident reportedly followed a chase involving a vehicle allegedly stolen from the Panbazar area of Guwahati.

Police reportedly recovered two pistols, mobile phones and other items allegedly linked to vehicle theft from the deceased. Their bodies have been kept at Sonapur District Hospital, while an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the exchange of fire and verify the allegations.
