Bank Unions Announce Multiple Strikes Over Five-Day Week

New Delhi: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has announced strikes on September 11, 28, 29 and 30, followed by an indefinite strike from October 26, demanding a five-day working week and resolution of other pending issues.

The unions said the government has not committed to implementing the five-day banking week despite an earlier agreement. They are also seeking more recruitment, pension-related reforms and better benefits for retirees. Bank branches and services are expected to remain closed on strike days.
