Four Men Found Dead in Manipur’s Kamjong District

IMPHAL: Four Tangkhul Naga men were found dead with bullet injuries in an isolated area near the Myanmar border in Pilong village, Kamjong district, police said. The victims were identified as Betterson Jajo, Vareishim Jajo, Phami Jajo and Ningthem Kashak. Police and local residents recovered the bodies following a search operation, and they were being taken to Kamjong District Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Local residents alleged that suspected militants from Myanmar crossed into India and ambushed five villagers on Thursday, with one person escaping and informing authorities. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh condemned the killings, while the Naga People’s Front and Tangkhul Naga Long also denounced the incident. The organisations alleged involvement of Kuki National Army-Burma cadres, though the allegations have not been independently established.
