PWD Engineer Arrested in Dibrugarh Bribery Case

Dibrugarh: The Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell arrested Assistant Executive Engineer Mridul Baglary on Tuesday for allegedly accepting a ₹30,000 bribe from a local contractor. Baglary, posted at the PWD (Building Division) office, was reportedly caught red-handed with the first instalment of a ₹1.30 lakh bribe.
The complaint was filed by contractor Raj Shekhar Hazarika, who alleged that Baglary demanded money to clear documents for pending project bills. Following the trap operation at the PWD office, vigilance officials also searched Baglary’s residence in Khaniagaon. An investigation into the case is underway.
