AI Alert System Helps Save 151 Elephants in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled alert system has helped save 151 elephants from potential train collisions. The system analyses five years of GPS data to predict elephant movement and identify possible railway crossings.

AI-powered sensors installed along railway tracks generate timely alerts for railway officials, enabling precautionary measures to prevent accidents. The initiative aims to improve railway safety and strengthen wildlife protection across Assam.
