57 Suspected Bangladeshi Nationals Detained at Kamakhya Railway Station

The Railway Protection Force has detained 57 people suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals at Kamakhya railway station in Guwahati. The group was intercepted aboard the Brahmaputra Mail and reportedly travelled from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities have not yet disclosed their identities, and verification is underway to establish their nationality and travel details.
The operation comes amid intensified checks across Guwahati. In recent days, police have detained several other suspected Bangladeshi nationals at railway stations and hotels, including Paltan Bazar and Shanti Hotel. Authorities are also investigating alleged accommodation and facilitation of foreign nationals without valid documents.
