Assam’s Per Capita Income More Than Doubles Since 2017-18

Assam’s per capita income has more than doubled from ₹75,151 in 2017-18 to an estimated ₹1,85,429 in 2025-26, according to state Finance Department sources. Despite the significant rise, Assam’s per capita income remains below the projected national average of ₹2,19,575 for 2025-26.

The state’s per capita income at current prices is estimated to grow by 15.59% in 2025-26 compared with the previous year. At constant prices, it is projected to reach ₹93,351, registering 9.2% growth. Per capita income is an important indicator of economic performance and helps assess changes in living standards.
